A member asked:

Is severe acute procedural anxiety an acceptable medical necessity for general anethestia to be covered by insurance for a ureteral stent removal and vasectomy done at the same time? usually both recommend local, won't do either w/o general anesthesi?

Each insurance company is different in how it covers general anesthesia for patients with severe acute procedural anxiety. Talk to your Dr who can contact your insurance for a Pre Procedure Authorization. If they cover it, they will authorize. If not, they will let you or the Dr know why not.
