Can you take valium before a colposcopy? i have severe anxiety when it comes to needles and medical procedures, as they don't use anesthesia for colposcopy, they say an ib profrium is okay. is taking a valium to help with both pain and fainting or nausea

Your : Your doctor should be ok with you taking a valium prior to the colposcopy. I just recommend you call in advance and inform them of your intentions.
Please don't feel horrified about the procedure. Colposcopy is a very common and safe procedure. If you have any questions or concerns make sure you ask your doctor prior to the procedure.

Yes: There should be no reason that you could not take a valium before you proceedure. However speak to your surgeon first.

Yes but call clinic: Most clinics will understand if you are nervous and will be happy for you to take a valium before surgery. If you are ever in doubt just call the clinic or office where you are going to have a procedure. Hope all goes well for you.
