A member asked:

I was wondering if melatonin can cause constipation? i have trouble sleeping but ever since ive started taking it, ive been struggling to have bowel movements. could this be because of my dose or would this be a different issue?

Melatonin shouldn't affect the frequency of your bowel movements. Drink plenty of fluids, eat fiber in the form of fruits&vegetables or take a fiber supplement daily, exercise regularly. If you have no urges for a BM, take a gentle bowel stimulant like senokotS regularly for a while.
