Eight years ago, i was on dexedrine and experienced a psychotic episode. subsequently, my psychiatrist switched me to concerta (on which i've remained ever since). do you think that his choice of treatment was random or related to my psychotic episod?

Not feasible for us to interpret your psychiatrist's intentions. You could ask him directly why he switched you several years ago. Hope all has been much better with Concerta.
