Rules for 24 hours: I am so happy you asked this question. As long as your child does not throw up....And wakes up when stimulated then you can wait. If your child begins to throw up in the first 24 hours after an injury this is an emergency. I have parents try to gently wake up their children during this first night a few times....If they are able to wake up and appear present things are fine.

Fall: That child should be taken to the er or pediatrician and have a complete examination by experienced personnel. The skull is still very fragile at that age and he may have suffered a concussion.
