If you have: Had previous reaction to iodinated contrast material, you should not get it any more. Tell the doctor who ordered the test. Maybe there is an alternative. If you really really really need to get it, then there are drugs, such as antihistamines and steroids, that will prevent some of the adverse reactions.

It depends.: If the exam requires IV contrast to make the diagnosis, you may need to take medicine before the study. Usually patients that require contrast who have had a prior reaction will take a combination prep of steroids and benedryl if you really need contrast. I'd call your doctor's office and/or the radiology department. It's much better to work this out ahead of time!
