Your son should see his doctor ASAP. You need to find out what the etiology of his congestion is so it can be treated. Once the congestion is treated, he may need a sleep study if he is still having breathing difficulties while he sleeps. So, get him to his doctor ASAP so his congestion can get diagnosed and treated. Discuss the possibility of asthma, allergies and sleep apnea with your Pediatrician. The nasal passages may be kept mucus free and the head of the bed elevated at 30 degrees. Please be seen soon if he is having difficulty breathing.
