Have had enlarged cervical lymph nodes for over a year. ultrasound said largest was 2 x 0.7 x 1.2 cm. doctor said that was fine. probably infection. treated with antibiotics twice and it never went down. hurts sometimes not always. what could this be?

Lymph node: Once a lymph node is inflamed -- usually due to infection -- the enlargement often never goes away. If painless, nontender, and unchanged for a year, probably all is OK. Re-check with your doctor if you remain concerned.
