A member asked:

Can oral minoxidil cause permanent damage to the heart over long-term use? husband is using 2.7mg daily for hair loss but will stop if there are these side effects?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Oral minoxidil is one of the newer treatments for hair loss, but can produce a lower blood pressure and some sig issues with weakness upon getting up too soon from a chair { orthostatic hypotension }. Quite often, the dose given is somewhat lower than his current dose. Be sure to have him monitored by his dermatologist.
