Post sca, brain swelling was present. 2nd ct done while brain was still swollen, before it went down. doctor states the patient will be in a vegetative state if they wake up. would waiting until swelling went down make difference on diagnosis?

"Predictions are hard to make, especially about the future" (Berra). This is very true about neurology, so, do not give up hope at this point, as surprises often occur. Perhaps you could also request a second opinion in view of the dismal statement provided so far.
