Due to the extravasation of contrast material (going outside of vein and into soft tissue of arm) swelling of arm can and does often occur. This may be due to contrast material itself and/or pressure on vein which prevents normal venous return causing edema in arm. The good thing is that it's been getting better, and it should. It's often recommended to apply cold compresses and elevate arm.
