A member asked:

Small swollen node under jaw that goes away when it is massaged, then it comes back. is this normal? (no throat infection. no fever. primary care dr at va said not to worry, but it is still worrying to me. only va healthcare and wont send me to ent?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Since the lymph node drains when massaged it fills because of a reaction or fluid. So the doctor needs to determine are there reasons for concern. To answer that , one would need to examine you and see the big picture . In the VA you can be asked to change primary care doctors.
