Is the johnson and johnson vaccine better compared to moderna and pfizer?

That opinion would depend on your perspective. By report, it is easier to transport and only requires 1 dose (at least for now). Yet it only prevents disease (and contagiousness) in ~65% compared with 95% in the others. It reportedly prevents severe infection in ~83% which is great, the others approach 97%. Maderna's handling is similar to standard vaccines/Pfizer a bit more involved.

Agree w Dr. Ferguson. It has many appealing features to include that it requires 1 dose instead of 2, does not require same low temps as mRNA vaccines (Pfizer more so that Moderna) so it can be made available to more facilities & even rural areas. However, it appears to afford a lower immunity rate than the mRNA viruses. BUT be aware that J & j was tested when there were more variant strains.

Agree with other doctors that it's a one dose and easier to store. Just thought I'd mention to any devout Catholics out there that this vaccine had more use of aborted fetus stem cells in its development than the other two currently available. However, the Council of Catholic Bishops in US has said if this is only one available, it is of more good to get vaccine and protect others than decline

All of the vaccines are effective at preventing illness from infection with SARS-CoV-2. Johnson and Johnson requires a singe dose. Get the vaccine that is available to you at the earliest. Wish you good health!
