You are describing "classical migraine" and your auras are typical. Sumatriptan is not appropriate, Xanax does NOT work. If frequent events, might consider preventative agent, such as BOTOX, or the newer CGRP items. A host of OTC remedies might be selected. See a neurologist who focuses on headaches. A new approach can control all of this. N.B., do not smoke or take BCP's, to avoid strokes.
