Knee Injury: If you are still having pain in your knee two months after a skating injury there are questions which need to be answered. Did your doctor examine you and xray your knee? Is your pain located over your kneecap? Are you having any locking or catching sensations in your knee? If you answer no to the first question and yes to the others then you need to see an orthopedic surgeon.

See someone else: If you're in pain you deserve to know why and hopefully get some relief as well. There are many possibilities. At two months something related to a meniscus or ligament tear is most likely. These can be seen on mri. The good news is that most of these things heal over many months and surgery is usually not indicated. See an orthopedist for an exam and get the answers you're looking for.

Contusion: Most likely a contusion. This can be just a superficial, or deep bruise all the way to the bone. Cartilage can be bruised, scuffed, or even torn (less likely). If your pain persists, request an MRI to confirm the diagnosis.
