HIV elite controllers typically have low or undetectable levels of virus in the blood, and therefore can test negative on tests to detect virus, including those used to give rapid results. However; they test normal on all other HIV diagnostic tests. All generations of standard antibody (or antigen-antibody) tests are positive as for anyone with HIV. Elite controller do not test false negative.
