An HSG showing hydrosalpinx present in one tube can mean compromise for fertility in both tubes are present. Asherman's syndrome and endometritis suggest past or present infection in the uterus. Although surgery can result in open tubes, chance of pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic) is significant. IVF may be indicated for possible pregnancy.
