If you're not having symptoms of lightheadedness, weakness, fainting then your low heart rate may be do to excellent physical condition. No symptoms,no problem.

At first, I want to emphasize that there is no correlation between heart rate and oxygen concentration (SpO2) Secondly, unless you are exercise heavily like an athlete, heart rate of 40 may be abnormal especially it does not go up to 90-100 with a mild-moderate exercise within a short time. Thirdly, at 70 years old and if your heart rate was much higher in the past, you should see your doctor.
