Controlled human studies have shown that commonly used complex dietary proteins, even in large amounts, do not cause calcium loss in adult humans except upon uncommon occasions. It’s possible that some proteins taken in excess could cause calcium loss from bone IF they contain phosphoric acids and if the person is already especially susceptible.
