A member asked:

Is it true that we can lose our calcium or nutrients when we eat excess salt or too much salt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Excess salt is not healthy because it could predispose to fluid retention and high blood pressure but unlikely to cause you to lose calcium and other nutrients. The body has complex mechanism of chemicals and hormones that regulates movements of salts and calcium and has nothing to do with how much salt you eat.
