Sometimes congestion can be from an allergy, if you’re not sick in any other way. Perhaps you have been exposed to a new environment, pet, food, or other substance. Nasal saline spray may help that type of congestion; sometimes an over the counter allergy nose spray or a non-sedating antihistamine such as Claritin (loratadine) may help. It’s good that you are seeing your doctor to get checked.
