Fairly normal is a better term. Some do very well. Dialysis takes over some functions of the kidney but one can out ear dialysis and die quickly. She will need to learn to eat differently if she wants to do well on dialysis. Goto uptodate.com and read more. Discuss with her and go to Dr visits with her may help. For example eating 2 much salt will worsen BP & heart failure. She is in control

Kidney and heart failure are complex diseases which require close monitoring and discussion with her specialist physicians. Here is a reference for appropriate foods, but you should consult with her Nephrologist. The dialysis removes waste products from her blood since her kidneys cannot do this. https://www.kidneyfund.org/kidney-disease/chronic-kidney-disease-ckd/kidney-friendly-diet-for-ckd.html
