A member asked:

4 weeks now. swollen submandibular node/tonsil on left side. no fever. both tonsils ache going up ears/sides of throat (mostly left). feel better on clinamycin. dr. said no ear infection. throat culture just came back normal. what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A node swollen from draining an infected area, like tonsils, may take a few days to weeks to return to normal size. You may feel the node every couple of days, if the lymph gland doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!
