A member asked:

Can all these be related to sinusitis? symptoms over 4 wks in this order: nasal congestion in winter, swollen pea sized submandibular node, 1 swollen tonsil, ear/jaw aches, sore throat that comes and goes. feel better on abx but throat swab normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

These symptoms may be at least partially caused by sinus secretions causing persistent postnasal dripping of mucus which can be inflaming your throat membranes and causing some lymph gland reactive inflammation and eustchian tube congestion leading to ear pain. Antibiotics help but may not clear up the sinusitis. What does the otolaryngologist think of your sinuses & these recurrent symptoms?
