Panic attacks: Commonly, but medical conditions can cause similar symptoms as well. Notoriously arrhythmias or fast and/or irregular heart rhythms are notorious of mimicking panic attacks. If episodes are interfering with your activities of daily living start by seeing your GP, who will get a detailed history and an exam in order to better discern actual cause. Keep a log with circumstances around attacks.
