Can occur: Have seen this when the device under chin is not angulated properly. This typically is a strain/ sprain situation, and not a lasting injury. But inform your therapist, and contact your dentist. Also, put traction on hold for about 7-10 days.

It should not: If fitted and balanced properly cervical traction should not adversely affect jaw joints. This should be a simple “fix.” Discus your adverse reaction with both your Physical Therapist and your Dentist. Working together they should be able to find a solution for you.
