I accidentally just took 2 800mg of ibuprofen together. i didnt realize i had taken 1 min before i took the second one. i have a tooth infection i also took a 800mg ibuprofen at 6:00am this morning. its now 12:00pm will i be okay?

Should be OK: The maximal dose of Ibuprofen is 3200mg/day. You are well below that level. However, don't be surprised if you have some stomach issues for several hours after this happened, i.e. nausea, emesis, abdominal distress. Hopefully you didn't take this on an empty stomach. Be careful of doses of any medication in the future!

Problematic: Though you should be OK, wise to call poison Control Center 1-800-222-1222. Never take any medication, either Rx or OTC, in any way other than the label or your Dr instructs. Know also that a pain killer will not cure the most common cause of toothache, infection, only numb the pain as the infection gets worse and spreads. Call a Dentist now for safe, effective treatment for your infection.
