Sutures needed?: It depends on where the cut is. If the laceration is on the inside of the mouth, it will usually not require sutures to close. If the laceration is on the lip or on the face near the lip, you will need to see a Dr for stitches to be placed to close the wound. Ice will reduce the swelling, but will not stop the bleeding. If the wound is large enough only closure will stop the bleeding.
