A member asked:

My doctor told me i have a fibroadenoma during my pap test physical examination. he did not do an ultrasound but said to always check my breasts. said not to worry. is this normal?

Breast Fibroadenomas: Breast fibroadenomas are circular not adherent, mobile, "usually benign" breast masses. A word of caution, any breast mass must be confirmed by other testing such as mammography, ultrasound or biopsy. Monthly breast self exams can assess whether the nodule is growing or panful. However, a 2nd ( MD)opinion exam of the nodule or additional testing is warranted.
