Oral surgeon mayhelp: Needs 3D image to diagnose. Looks like result of some injury/ unwanted gliding movement for chewy/ sticky food. Facial splint and physiotherapy with facial exercises/ hot & cold fomentation/ temporal massage may help.Scraping on one side and normal movement on one side may be pointing at dislocation (as fracture is ruled out by other Dr) Please see oral surgeon. Antiinflammatory medicines mayhelp.

Recommend dental : The oral surgery consultation is critical here and should be done ASAP. For time being, use of a nocturnal dental splint should help.
