I have an umbilical hernia that has grown for the past 1 year. it's causing me to have diaharrea, backaches and pain in my lower abdomen. now it's causing my period to be late for this month. i'd really like to know if a hernia can cause late period?

Not related 2 period: Umbilical hernia should not be related to any symptoms described, especially not to your periods. Hernia itself could be painful if & should a loop of intestine get stuck in it. Please push hernia back, should this occur. Enlarging umbilical hernia is an indication for surgical repair, unless it is small enough for repair to be considered cosmetic. Good Luck.
