A member asked:

After hysterectomy for adenocarcinoma in situ should i have my yearly paps with my oncologist or my regular obgyn for the rest of my life? which is best?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

In-situ adeno-ca ?: If the entire uterus was removed (including the cervix), a pap smear from your gyn provider is sufficient. Your oncologist can reassess possible manifestations of the "in-situ" diagnosis, assuming the pathologic diagnosis of the uterine specimen is consistent with the "in-situ" diagnosis (ruling our metastatic disease with the hysterectomy).
