My 23 had covid and at the time her wbc went down to 2. after 4 wks it showed 6.6. and everything else normal as well. for years her wbc was around 4.5 to 5.can wbc fluctuate and should we worry and retake blood test again?

Do not worry.: You are right WBC fluctuates and it could be used as an indicator along with other things like symptoms to determine what is going on in the body. It may go up or down with infection and different components may go up or down for various other reasons. If your child is otherwise is well, it is best to follow what your doctor would suggest because they have information to make decision to repeat.
