Hi! i got lab work from my doctor. both the t4 total (7.0) and free t4 (1.5) i think are normal. tsh is 0.47 and t3 is 73, which i think are both low--should i see an endocrinologist with these results? do i need ct or mri to check anything further?

Context needed: Clinical context as to why you are having thyroid tests done, follow up, symptoms, etc and test dynamics if you had similar tests in the past and how are they trending before speculating as to where to go with above numbers. An endocrinologist should help clarify if not already involved. Imaging may be considered, more information will be needed.

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your endocrinologist will evaluate, however, the findings are not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!
