Why sore ?: We need more information on the irritation to determine if this is an ingrown toenail/infection/fracture/metatarsalgia/neuroma..? Please send more information. In the meantime, see if you can get an orthotic or carved sole that will carry your weight of the back 3/4 of the sole and totally off weight the painful area. Write soon

Get the right shoe: Sesamoiditis is usually from improper footwear or an anatomically short 2nd metatarsal bone. Properly sized and cushioned footwear should suffice. But an insert with the area relieved under the big toe may be needed.
