Bunionectomy with 2 surgical screws placed. i'm 5wk post op. still very swollen/sore & stiffness in big toe joint area. is this normal at this point?

Healing: The healing process for most surgical wounds is 6-8 weeks. The inside part is usually around the same, but obviously variable. I would suggest calling your surgeon to find out for your case. May want to bring you in for a follow up exam as well. Time heals all wounds... Hope this helps!

CAN BE: "Very swollen" may be different between what you think and the surgeon thinks. "Sore"-getting better or worse? Most important; are you doing your part regarding following post-op instructions?
