A clean up procedure: Cheilectomies are "Clean-up" procedures to help relieve some of the signs and symptoms of an arthritic joint, while still preserving the joint. Not quite sure why the toe is out of alignment. The alternative to a cheilectomy is an implant. These are much improved over the past few years and are quite similar to a knee or hip titanium appliance.
