I have had a persistent dry cough for about a month now. it followed what i thought was a cold or allergic reaction in early december. should i get a covid antibody test? and should i see my gp?

Not yet and yes: Seeing your GP would be appropriate for an exam and detailed history. Running the test now may bring confusing information before the initial assessment. Once evaluated, your GP would be able to order appropriate tests as needed.

COVID 19: In South Africa a medical provider will determine need for COVID 19 testing. Consult your local primary care provider or you can use telemedicine (to include HealthTap’s telemedicine format) for individual consultations. There are a number of free apps to look at your risk. Your doctor can determine if PCR or antibody testing is appropriate.
