Sore throat: Suspicion for COVID 19 is higher if you have at least 2 of these symptoms: temp of at least 99.6 F (37.5 C), Cough, Shortness of breath, Chills, Shivering, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat or new loss of taste or smell. For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician & get a strep throat test/ culture. Saltwater gargles: Mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle

Fever : Fever means infection. Could be either viral or bacterial. If viral, palliative meds can be bought at your drug store to reduce the fever and ease the sore throat. If bacterial, an antibiotic would be in order, but you need a prescription for that.
