Imaging: And a working diagnosis will be needed. There are few options left, including surgery, but imaging studies, X-ray, CT or MRI will be needed along with a diagnosis. Best to coordinate locally is still your GP based on actual findings.

BACK PAIN: YOU HAVE DONE ALL THE BASIC THINGS AND STILL HAVE PAIN - A SURGEON IS ALMOST ALWAYS THE LAST STEP. YOU PROBABLY NEED SOME IMAGING DONE AND THEN SEEN AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST TO CONSIDER SOME INJECTIONS AND OTHER MODALITIES.

? a surgeon: Not clear to me as to why a surgeon should get involved at this point. First, is need to find "pain generator", which could be a disc, facet, sacroiliac joints, chronic muscular strain. There are specific indications for injections and surgery where I live, and age 31 is too young to become crippled. See a physiatrist, get imaging, consider learning McKenzie Back Exercises, consider acupuncture

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!
