Covid vs strep: Could be covid. Could also be strep pharyngitis- which is a bacterial infection of the tonsillar area. It would make sense to get tested for both covid and strep since strep could lead to heart problems if it is not treated. Either one is contagious to others, so please take proper precautions. Isolate, sanitize, mask. Mild covid can be treated at home with fluids, fever reducers and rest

Sore throat: For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician & get a strep throat test/ culture. Consider making tea with 2 tsp of Marshmallow root bark per 1cup of hot water (steep in a covered pot for at least 5 minutes). Drink several times a day or as needed to relieve throat pain. Have you been tested for COVID 19:?
