Type of pain: Talk to your doctor about the type of pain you're having. There are anti-inflammatories, narcotics, pain medicines that are specific for nerve pain. Some of these may be safe in somebody with liver disease, and some aren't, but knowing the type of pain will help guide your doctor in suggesting the best medicine.
