Been on 10/325 for 11 year for pain. new fda drug zohrydro has no tylenol (acetaminophen). concerned about liver damage. is this a better rx?

Not necessarily: You have been taking Percocet for 11 years, Oxycontin has been on the market the same amount of time that you have been on medication and has the same opiate component, yet were never placed on it. Best to check with your doctor.

Caution with meds: Chronic pain is very difficult.Narcotics create some special challenges as well. In general they should be more of a last resort if at all under strict guidelines.Recently, the added tylenol (acetaminophen) in many of these compounds raise concerns for liver damage, so the dose has been lowered or removed. However, tylenol (acetaminophen) can be good for chronic pain.Best step is to discuss your concerns and rx with physician.
