Liver failure: It's hard to say without knowing all the facts, but my guess is that she overdosed on tylenol (acetaminophen) and developed acute liver failure. When that happens, patients can develop cerebral edema and elevated intracranial pressure which can cause all sorts of neurologic impairments including blindness.
