PSA under 1.0 normal: This a perfect result at your age. Prostate Specific Antigen routinely tested in Caucasians after age 50 and from 40-45 in Africans as screening test for prostate cancer. Ideally should remain below 4. PSA can be elevated when prostate is inflammed, ie as in prostatitis and can can also be elevated following vigorous digital rectal exam of prostate. Shoild always be repeated if initially elevated.
