A member asked:

Merry christmas doctors. for seborrheic dermatitis, should cortisone cream otc be good enough, or should i see a dermatologist for a rx? also.. cortisone cream with aloe better or just by itself (or with something else)????

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dermatologist: I recommend consulting a dermatologist for diagnosis, appropriate treatment and follow-up of the seborrheic dermatitis. In the meantime you could try applying low dose cortisone ointment, but avoid too much application on the face itself. If you feel there is significant inflammation, use the preparation with soothing aloe.
