Lid hygiene : You may also have seborrheic blepharitis which requires ophthalmic treatment. Don't use otc corticosteroid ointment on your eyelashes. An ophthalmologist will describe a treatment regimen consisting of warm compresses, gentle massage with dilute baby shampoo, and occasionally an eye ointment, either antibiotic or antibiotic/steroid combo application to eyelids. In advanced cases, oral antibiotics.

Blepharitis: If you've not already, see your eye doctor. You might have blepharitis or eyelid dermatitis, both of which can have different treatment types. You might possibly need a steroid ointment made specifically to be used on or around the eyes. It could also be an infection. See and talk to your eye doctor about what the diagnosis is, and what the best way is to treat it.
