I take esctialopram . i am worried if it increases eye pressure and will put me at risk for glaucoma. is it safe medicine at dose of 5-10mg? would fluoxetine be a better alternative as far as my eye health concerns are there?

No effect: Both of these antidepressant medications are SSRIs. There is no adverse effect on intra-ocular pressure. . They do not increase risk for or cause glaucoma.

No glaucoma risk: Agree with Dr Dahl. But why is there concern for glaucoma, do family members have it? Perhaps there is a role for ophthalmologist? Discuss these issues with the prescribing doctor so your concerns can be assuaged.
