What are some common causes of bicep tendinitis and where on the arm/shoulder areas is pain or tightness usually felt?

Strain: Tendon is white tissue (poor blood supply) so when it is injured via strain or tear, the healing is slow. Biceps connect the arm on either side of the elbow so pains are around the elbow but may go up to the shoulder or below the elbow crease. Common injury is via overuse of flexing the elbow, especially if heavy weight is used (overload), holding a flexed position (adding prolonged tension).

Tendinitis: This causes pain over anterior shoulder and can be due to repetitive arm/ shoulder motion. Most cases thought to be due to “wear and tear”. An orthopedic surgeon can inject if necessary
