Numbness: Because so many systems are present in that small area, there may be one or multiple causes. Would suggest that you see specialist Oral Surgeon AND specialist ENT to begin the diagnostic process.

Facial numbness : Pain or numbness in the area in front of the ear of the face can be related to the parotid gland, possibly a stone in the gland, facial nervecompression from swelling which can be painful or cause paralysis of the muscles of the face. It would be important for your doctor to examine the area and do appropriate testing to arrive at a accurate diagnosis.
